Kyamanywa Robert, 22 is also among the people with a twisted past whose lives have been touched by the amazing generosity of the Polish Donors. Robert had a stammering condition which lasted for 4years  and this affected his early days of school.

Even though Robert had lost his Dad who was the family’s sole bread winner a year before he finished Primary, that didn’t stop him from excelling in his studies not even to stop him from dreaming big.

In 2014 he joined  Kisojo Secondary School for Ordinary Level education and to God’s grace, he was given half bursary but it was so tough for him to raise the other half which was only 40,000shillings. Robert used to wake up early in the morning milk the cow and then walk 30minutes to sell the milk before he could proceed to go to class.

“Due to his continuous failures and misfortunes girls used to laugh at him on his way to school but that only helped him to increase his courage”

During his vacation Robert tried to do some casual jobs so that he could be able to sponsor himself to do any course, having finished senior with his two other siblings he knew that his mother won’t be able to raise school fees for all of them, So he decided to stay home in order to be able to support his family.

Luckily, a few months along the way his friend introduced him to Pastor Musinguzi Samuel who gave him a job in his school and he started teaching. When the Pastor heard his appealing story he was taken to Gate of Hope and that’s when his life started changing tremendously. He later joined the organization and decided to do a construction course not that it’s what he needed but only because he was desperate to attain any skill that can help him in future. He preferred to be teacher but unfortunately he had not got the score that required him to do a Primary Teaching Course (PTC). When he met Mama Honia, she encouraged him to do Nursery Teaching which was quite a challenging decision to make because as male, teaching young kids could be such a tricky career for him as they require special and parental attention. He did heed to Mama Honia’s advice and did the course for two years. He got a sponsor from Poland who supported him with tuition, school requirements and individual requirements and when he finished the course in 2021, he was also given a job by the Organization. This year he has at the same time been sponsored by the same organization to pursue a diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and is so grateful to the Organization, the entire Polish Donors, to Mama Honia and Papa peter who have immensely contributed towards the wellbeing of his life.
